For at least a month, but closer to two, I've been kind of stymied in my painting endeavors. It isn't full painter's block, but I haven't been happy with most of the projects I've started. I'm bored with them and when I become bored with them, they get painted over FAST and I start OVER YET AGAIN. The Athena painting, which probably will not survive for very long, is just an exercise in the end. I do not love it, but do think of it as a learning experience. I'm hoping to shake myself out this state by doing similar subjects but with colors applied in a more '

sychedelic' manner. I'm bored with my work. It probably has something to do with the fact I am simultaneously finishing up a rough draft for another novel, which I hope to have published via Lulu in September. I don't have the concentration I need for painting and the work suffers for it. I am restless, but that's not a bad thing.

'Cause baby, I'm an anarchist,
You're a spineless liberal.
We marched together for the eight-hour day
And held hands in the streets of Seattle,
But when it came time to throw bricks
Through that Starbucks window,
You left me all alone.
